Why is it important to understand game?

The term appears frequently in game descriptions, but not everyone immediately understands what it means. I used to think it was just another word for probability, but judging by the information, the concepts are different. I'm particularly interested in how this metric affects the nature of gameplay. If two games have the same, can they still feel completely different? And should a beginner even pay attention when choosing a particular option?😀

Volatility is indeed different from probability and RTP. Simply put, it can be thought of as a characteristic of how widely individual game outcomes can vary. With higher volatility, outcomes can be less uniform: potentially large outcomes occur less frequently, and small ones are more likely to give way to more significant fluctuations. With low volatility, the distribution usually appears smoother, although this doesn't mean there's no risk. However, RTP describes the long-term mathematical expectation, not what will definitely happen in a single gaming session. Therefore, two games with the same RTP can indeed offer completely different gaming experiences. If volatility information is available, it's useful to consider it along with other characteristics. However, it shouldn't be used as a predictive tool for the next outcome. It describes the specifics of the game's mathematical model, not a predictor of the next outcome. For a beginner, the most useful thing is to understand these differences and avoid confusing probability, RTP, and volatility.
