8 weeks old

BANANA - ID#A655537

My name is Banana and I am a male, tan Mastiff.

The shelter staff think I am about 8 weeks old.

This dog is in foster care and may or may not be available. To view currently available foster dogs and apply to adopt, please visit the shelter's website.

I have been at the shelter since Jan 21, 2023.

This information is 2 hours old. Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:Banana is the most mellow puppy of the litter. He is easy going, loves to nap and to give kisses, and loves to cuddle. He would do great with kids and other pets.
This puppy was a part of the 10 puppy litter that was fostered by a dog trainer. Puppies stayed with their mom for 8 weeks and had a great start in their life. They have been picked up and handled daily by multiple people. They have met new people daily and played with other friendly dogs besides their mother. They are very well socialized, love people and love being picked up and handled.
Due to their potentially large size all the puppies need to go to the families that can commit to continue socializing and training that they need. Mastiffs can be intrinsically more fearful of strangers and to be able to safely meet different people once they are older, these puppies need to meet a lot of people and dogs daily. They need to be enrolled in puppy play groups, socializing and basic obedience classes. We recommend only going with the non aversive trainer that would not use a prong or shock collar on your puppy as it can result in fear and aggression in dogs that would put their life in danger due to their size.
All puppies regardless of their size need a lot of chew toys, rug toys and soft toys, as well as regular exercise and training. If you think that this commitment is beyond your resources at the moment, their mom is also available, very mellow and and is already house and leash trained.

All animals are available for adoption or rescue. So, if you are interested, go direct. "Make A Pledge" is a feature used to encourage animal rescues (a 501c3 nonprofit) to save the animal appearing in the photo on this post. If the animal is rescued, you will receive an email with the rescue's name, a photo of the rescued animal out of animal pound and links to information about how you can honor your pledge. Pledged money is used to get the animal medical attention, boarding, spay/neutered, transportation and other activities involved with rescuing an animal. Pledges are not given to private individuals. Our website merely gathers your pledge information, shows a running total of pledges, and then sends out one email on behalf of the rescue agency. If the animal is adopted or killed, you will not receive an email pertaining to your pledge or the animal. Pledging saves lives. Each dollar brings an animal rescue one step closer to saving the life listed here.
On behalf of the animals, THANK YOU!
